Troubleshooting
If you’re experiencing issues with the Drive Explorer Pro extension in Google Sheets, here are some common problems and how to resolve them.
Extension not showing in Google Sheets
- Check installation: Make sure you installed Drive Explorer Pro from the Google Workspace Marketplace .
- Refresh the sheet: After installation, close and reopen your Google Sheet, or refresh the page.
- Look under Extensions menu: Go to Extensions > Drive Explorer Pro. If it’s not listed, reinstall from the Marketplace.
Upload not working
- Check Google Drive permissions: Ensure that you allowed the required permissions during installation. If denied, remove and reinstall the extension.
- Check folder access: Make sure you have permission to upload files into the selected Google Drive folder.
- File size limits: Very large files may fail because Google Drive has storage and upload limits. Try with a smaller file.
- Check storage space: If your Google Drive is full, new files cannot be uploaded.
Files not listing in Google Sheets
- Confirm folder selection: Verify that the correct Google Drive folder is selected as the source.
- Check attributes: Make sure you selected at least one file attribute (like file name or URL) to display.
- Sheet permissions: Ensure you have edit access to the Google Sheet. If it’s view-only, file details cannot be written.
- Refresh the sheet: Sometimes refreshing the page helps reload the extension sidebar.
Extension keeps asking for permissions
- Reinstall the extension: If permissions weren’t granted correctly during installation, remove and reinstall from the Workspace Marketplace.
- Multiple accounts: If you’re signed into multiple Google accounts in the same browser, permissions may conflict. Try logging in with the account where you installed the extension.
Common Drive and Sheets issues
- Shared Drives: At present, Drive Explorer Pro works with personal Google Drive folders. Shared Drives may not be supported unless your admin allows it.
- Network issues: A weak or unstable internet connection may cause uploads or file listings to fail. Try again once your connection is stable.
- Organization settings: In Google Workspace accounts, admins may block third-party Marketplace apps. Check with your admin if the extension is disabled.
